Sold in SLE and SLT trim models, the 2012 GMC Terrain includes XM satellite radio, rearview camera system, OnStar, remote keyless entry and cruise control as standard. 18-inch wheels, heated seats and remote starting system are added to the Terrain SLT model. Safety equipment found on all 2012 GMC Terrain models include six airbags, daytime running lights and StabiliTrak with traction control. Powerplant choices for the 2012 GMC Terrain consist of either a four-cylinder or an E85 compatible six-cylinder engine. The base 2.4 liter, inline-4 powerplant of the 2012 GMC Terrain produces 182 horsepower and 172 pounds-feet of torque. An optional 3-liter V-6 engine on the 2012 Terrain provides 264 horsepower. Both engines for the crossover vehicle features gasoline direct injection as well as modern all-aluminum construction networked through a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Available as a front or all-wheel drive model, the 2012 GMC Terrain line-up maintains an average fuel economy above 20 miles per gallon.
