ONE OWNER / Toyota's FJ Cruiser sees some important mechanical upgrades for 2010. Power from the 4.0L V6 increases from 239 hp to 258 hp, while fuel economy increases by 1 mpg, to 18 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. This is thanks in large part to the addition of variable valve timing and roller rocker arms. Minor suspension changes reduce the FJ's turning radius by more than a foot, and a new Army Green exterior color replaces VooDoo Blue. The FJ Cruiser's quirky design is based on Toyota's Tacoma, and the FJ's performance on unpaved terrain does the brand proud. The 4.0L V6 can tow up to 5,000 pounds, and the utilitarian interior can accommodate five passengers and their gear.
